Breadcrumbs dropped on music wanderings.

  1. 私Mailuwa Yukari Yamamoto

    Fun video, neat hooks.

Found it via this very VHSy video: www.youtube.com/watch?v=ugMAlMwk-Kw

Got slowly obsessed with 私Mailuwa, and forgot to close-off this thread. This’s what happened to me with ♂×♀×Kiss too; logged it but thought not too much of it, but ever since have played it pretty regularly.

I think I actually found it via that song too—? They both have fast-singy bits—

  4. Love Comes Quickly ~霧の都の異邦人~ Hidemi Ishikawa

Otherwise, There’re two covers I’ve been listening to a lot (apart from stuff I’ve already posted). Both good for lights-out, pre-sleep, listening.

I like this one a little better than the Pet Shop Boys one.

  5. Miss Liberty John Sauli

Was trying to disprove a potential hot take about how the only good italo-disco songs all have superior Japanese covers and stumbled on this one.

Only downside for me is the lyric (and kinda the guy’s voice), but there’s also an instrumental version as a B-side.

(Also There’s no superior cover to Kiss Her, so…

  7. Cha-Cha-Cha Finzy Kontini

I didn’t realise the Akemi Ishii version of this was a cover until I looked at the credits.

Definitely prefer the cover. Italodisco stuff never clicks with me the way a bunch of adjacent stuff does.

    Content warning: Mime, ugly guitar.
