Nice duds. Rotating keyboards.
Actually, Siedah Garrett, from that last video I posted, has a a live video with Michael Jackson where she’s wearing an amazing multi-colour, reflective top.

Got to this from recs. from more stuff I was hearing off that blog. Great atmosphere.
Translator says the title is ‘Targeted Girl’. Seems like it might be a Youtube darling I’ve missed.
She only has one album according to Discogs—
Oh, looked at the credits on Discogs and it’s a bunch of people Internet people like a lot more than I do, EG Haruomi Hosono wrote a lot of the songs. Didn’t think much of the album apart from this song and maybe ハートがピッピッ (My Heart Goes Beep Beep), but more interesting production than a lot of J-pop.
All the song’s I’ve listened to so far have been pretty average, but I like this one well enough. Maybe I’ve heard it in a movie before? Title translates to Break the Iceberg.
Here they are both singing it together in giant spotty dresses.
I watched The Top Bet today, then watched a little doco on Anita Mui. She became a pop star by singing a cover of 風的季節, which I liked a video of a little while a ago. I didn’t actually know she was a big pop star, never looked much into Cantopop.
Oh yeah, gotta post this somewhere.
Translates to The Season of Wind.
Guy can still hit that high note in 2022, fyi.
Not gunna post them, but you can go on a little yt journey from here and find footage of these great concerts with a bunch of these guy groups all performing together.
Found this via a version of To Love Somebody with him, Marcia Hines, Brian Cadd, and Max Merritt. Had never heard of him before, but he’s got a great voice. This song doesn’t show it off so much, but you do get some of the rich Tom Jones kind of quality his voice can have. Still, a fun song.
Great chorus and dancing, plus saxophone and rap interludes (I think those are her kids?)
All the songs I’ve listened too have this same kinda good, kinda forgettable vibe.
Can’t remember what video was here before, but this one is also live and has a good outfit.
Ah, this is her famous song.
Recently started a new blog project called J-POP LANDSCAPES, so’ve been watching lots of J-Pop videos again. Haven’t turned-up much new stuff that I like, but the chorus of this song’s neat, and I’d never heard of Akiko Matsumoto before.
This’s since become a fave of mine. Love the grubby bass too.
Starting to wish I was this person TBQH.
