Got to this from recs. from more stuff I was hearing off that blog. Great atmosphere.

Translator says the title is ‘Targeted Girl’. Seems like it might be a Youtube darling I’ve missed.

Oh, looked at the credits on Discogs and it’s a bunch of people Internet people like a lot more than I do, EG Haruomi Hosono wrote a lot of the songs. Didn’t think much of the album apart from this song and maybe ハートがピッピッ (My Heart Goes Beep Beep), but more interesting production than a lot of J-pop.

Was sorting my bookmarks a bit, going through checking music blogs, adding some RSS feeds, and am having a good time exploring this one: Fond/Sound.

Rest of this EP of remixes I’m not into as much. Normally I get a bit bored by this type of thing. Enjoying the icy/crystally sounds, been trying to make some music with them too.

Predictably, the song I complained about last post has got stuck in my head.

Here’s another one off the same album I like. Kinda like how normal the singer looks in this, like someone’s auntie.

Was looking at Youtube comments on a song I like and someone called it sophistipop. That sounded like such a stupid word I looked it up to see if anyone else used it, and ugh, it’s some Internet-person non-genre.

Anyway, I’ve been going through a few sophistipop playlists and found a few things. Mostly it’s just C-tier UK stuff with a bit of Roxy Music sprinkled in.

Singing in this is as annoying as fuck, but someone else could do a good version of this.

Don’t remember this song at all from when I rushed through Bowie’s discography. Maybe I just heard the intro and skipped to the next one.

Real good version of a song I was never that fussed by on the album.

This is the worst video I’ve ever seen.

Fact the dingus’s doing a Sam Cooke impression and dressed like a Black Panther doesn’t help.

Always liked that Heaven song, but not much else. This is alright.

Had to look up the lyric from the chorus, it’s:

Ohhhhhhh I didn’t realise this was Bananarama. I don’t think I’ve ever liked them much, but I like some of the J-Pop covers of the SAW songs (I Heard a Rumour, Love In The First Degree). This song is real good though. It’s probably obvious at this point that most songs I like have a kind of desperate feeling.

Couldn’t remember what movie I knew it from, but it’s Karate Kid.

You’d think typing ‘bananarama’ would be fun, but it’s not.
