Breadcrumbs dropped on music wanderings.

  1. Let It Be Me Bob Dylan

This popped into my head today.

This version’s an out-take from Shot of Love, which I never listened to much—actually, I think it was the last album of his I got access to (this was in the pre-torrent era). I’m enjoying a few repeat play-throughs today.

The original version’s from one of my favourites: Self Portrait.

  2. B~r~e~a~k~~~t~i~m~e

  3. Flames of Love Fancy

Not many people realised, but Fancy was eventually replaced by Roy Orbison, before he joined the Travelling Wilburys.

  4. Lady of Ice Fancy

Several things are a bit like Pet Shop Boys.

  5. Don't Cry Tonight Savage
  6. Symphony of Love Fair Control

Sorry, had to replace the video with one from a channel that puts a shit border on everything.

  7. Love System The Twins

That was good before the singing started.

  8. Midnight Man Flash and the Pan

Primitive Calculators hosted Rage last night, and it was a pretty odd mix of songs. I don’t know if I’ve heard Midnight Man before, but it’s sleazey, worrying, quiet and sexy.

Flash and the Pan was a musical project by the great Australian songwriting team Harry Vanda and George Young (of the Easybeats).
